Hello all,

What other cars are generally available as a 2 seater sports.
Really looking for some open air mororing.

The MX5 and MR2 'T-Bar' are the only ones I can think of ?

please suggest some , an perhaps why.

I will spend about £3000

MG F/TF - just to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons, and because I don't mind them.

Plenty of scope to tighten and stiffen....and personally I think they look better than the MX5 (but not the MR2)....

Right, I'm off to avoid abuse!

That kind of money should get you a TVR Tasmin 350 (V8).

Cheap on the old insurance (I pay just over £100 per year on a classic policy), great noise, a real headturner and likely to hold it's value a bit more than an MX5 / MGF / MR2.

Bought mine 4 years ago for just over £3K, and put 8K on it. Been offered £3.5K for it last month.

The bits are either Ford / Jag / Rover (other than a few specialised parts)

Alfa Spider - in either the modern 916 format, FWD, mainly 2 ltr twinspark...

or the achingly pretty classic spider which they made for aaages up to about 1993 IIRC, various facelifts.

I wish they drove aswell as my MX5, or my MX5 was as pretty !

You're nudging the lower end of the MR2 Roadster market there (yr 2000 cabrios). But buy wisely at that price.
