I'd have the C-Max, but it depends if you want 7 seats or not.

Renault Avantime? At least it has character even if it isn't practical. Also has snazzy hinges on the doors and a big sunroof.

Just noticed diesel in the OP too, they were only available in a 3.2 petrol V6 in the UK IIRC.

I thought you'd already bought a C-Max?

Out of the cars on your list, I'd go for the Altea.

Good cars but that is an awful lot of money for a 100,000 miles 3 year old car with an old diesel engine in it.

The 1.8 'Lynx' engine is still quite a respectable performer, despite the base engine's age. Under certain conditions that's actually faster than the 2-litre diesel.

My vote would be for a diesel S-Max. The C-Max is also uncannily good fun to drive for what's basically a FWD minibus though. I know I'm biased but the Fords of the RPJ era really were the best handling cars in their class.

Toyota Corolla Verso, or a Mazda 5 as stated by others. Both will last forever and are superbly practical for transporting kids.

My parents have a Toyota Previa and it's been supremely reliable. It's 10 years old now and has wanted for nothing aside from servicing. They have the 2.4 petrol which is a bit thirsty but IIRC there's a smaller petrol and a diesel engine too. Might be worth a look.

C-Max all the way. Brilliant steer, less MPV like to drive than any of the others. (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetrics are lovely on it btw)

Mine was a 2l petrol, so as long as the (I assume) heavier diesel lump doesn't ruin things, that would firmly be my choice.

Ghia with the Sony stereo well worth it, but you may want to swap the 'wood' trim with the 'metal' trim from a Zetec.

2.0t I drove didn't exist then.
Also it was a 3.0 v6 not 3.2.
