Guys, please excuse this emotive post - it somehow helps just a tiny bit to write/type this.

To all those who know this pain... I lost my dad today, he was 57
He passed after after one of the bravest fights ever... my dad, my friend.. my hero.

I will miss you..always cry

Times like this put the 'so called' biggest problems, irritants into perspective. Peeling dash laminate, or lumpy fuelling mean nothing.

Please accept my condolences, there is nothing anyone can say that will ease your pain and that of other family members, hopefully in times to come you will think more of the good times you had with him than the (natural) feeling of being cheated by his passing at such a young age.

Once again... thank you, I'm truly bowled over by the kind things you guys have said...

Cancer is a terrible disease but not what my dad was suffering with.
My dad had a heart valve replacement 5 years ago, but unfortunately started leaking flow again so was waiting for another op. There were other complications also. He had 2 small heart attacks on Saturday and was taken to hospital, where he was also found to be suffering with pnuemonia!
Early hours of this morning after hours battling with breathing & heart racing.. he died... with both myself & 2 sisters holding him..cry

Thank-you my Wedge friends for all your words, & the your sharing of your own stories. frown

Oh Wayne, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.
You poor guy.

He was so young too ! A year younger than myself.

I hope you have lots of good people around you at this moment, because I know you will be feeling very lonely and helpless right now.

Just try to be strong for your dad, but allow yourself to grieve for him too.
We all have to go one day, but we hope to live on in the memory of our loved ones. That is where your dad is now, and he will never be forgotten.

Best of luck mate. Things will get better. Just make him proud of you.

Wayne

Death is all around us, we read about it in the papers and see it on the news but it only hits home when it is someone close, it is there to reminds us of how fragile we all are.
Take comfort in those around and if you believe, you will know that he has gone to a better place.

Oh bugger. Many condolences, if them are the right words. Probably not. Don't know what to say. Others here have said it better.

I lost my dad last july after a short battle with cancer but he was 76 and i can honestly say theres not been a day gone by without thinking about him. he got me into cars and v8s which led to my tvr which he was really proud of, we spent years together working on cars and every time i start the beast up or just go into my garage memories coming flooding back. 57 is no age at all these days and i sympathise with you but remember the good times and keep his memory going.
