I'm about 6' 1", and wouldn't be the slimmest of builds.. Would I have bother sitting in, or driving something like a Tiger Cat E1? There seems to be a Cat 1 XL that seems to be wider, but I haven't seen any for sale?

I'm trying to find someone who has a kit car, to have a look at it and hopefully sit in it.. There doesn't seem to be many around here for sale at all!

You'd be surprised I'm 6'4"/16 stone and I found there weren't many cars I couldn't fit in. I did struggle with the Caterham as it was a bit too narrow. Some manufacturers will make a longer chassis if required. I had a drive in one of these http://www.marlinsportscars.co.uk/sportster/ and I have to say it was one of the most comfortable cars I have ever sat in and it was my second choice and chose the http://www.sylva.co.uk/riotSE.html instead. I went for the side bars around the cockpit which admittedly makes getting in a fine art and have ripped a pair of jeans making the stretch to get in!!

Kit cars vary. Don't take anyone's word for what will be ok for you, need to try them yourself.

I suggest you decide what you fancy, then see if you can get in it. This type of question crops up a lot.

as singlecoil says all will vary a bit - meaning, a guy thats 6'2'' that built say a tiger may have adjusted the rake of the sterring to accommodate his knees. Also depends on your leg length - not your overall height. FWIW - my tiger cat was built and driven by a bloke of 6'2'', he just used seat pads not moveable seats - again, that'll make a difference - not only giving you more leg room length ways, but also the angle.....

I'm 6' 1'' and have got a westfield sei wide, with standard seats and runners. I have no problems fitting in, and as mentioned if you removed the seat runners or put a different seat in there would be even more room.

Here are the dimensions of the interior of my Mac#1 Motorsport Worx chassis, to get a rough idea you could measure up an area on your floor to see how you think you'd fit.

A familiar thread - and similar to the one I started a few years ago!

As a tip, don't spend time working out which car you would like from a magazine before you've been to a show and sat in a few.

I'm 6'4"/5" and 15 stone and have a Quantum. MNR's Vortx has plenty of room. The MEV Rocket works very well. Also the Viento.

And even then there are things you can do. I barely fitted in a standard westy. When I had mine built I had them raise and lengthen the steering column to increase leg clearance. At 6' 5" with long legs I then fitted easily.

i couldnt fit a std westy chassis but did fit a wider version (i'm 6'3 and 14 1/2st). ended up with a GD t70 and had the roll bar height spec'd to suit 1" higher than std. plenty of leg room altho you do rub shoulders with bigger passengers!

As you might guess from my user name I am no racing snake, and I fitted my old Striker and my current Fury (actually very similar chassis) my son who is slim and 6' 3" also fits both cars.

Best things as already suggested though is to sit in a few, either at a show or if you can get to a sprint or hilclimb many owners would be happy to let you have a seat in their cars.
