I really like the sound of this story:

This is exactly what this country wants to be doing right now. Buying British, keeping the money in our own pocket and reaping the benefits of consuming our own produce, and reducing our reliance on foreign imports.
I'll be over the moon once we start re-opening coal mines and smelting our own steel again, but that might never happen. This, at least, is a start....

Minerals and Coal are UK sureshots.
The mines may not be UK staffed in the majority, or UK owned, but the stuff will come out for sure, and sooner than you think.
I have contacts in the minerals industry and there is more going on than you might think. Put it this way, the prospecting drill rigs are pretty busy ATM.

That is very interesting and encouraging news - I am sure I read somewhere (on PH perhaps) a while back that propecting companies are crawling over the UK looking for viable deposits of various ores. It's a shame it's not UK companies that are taking this initiative though. The mines may not be UK staffed in the majority, or UK owned, but the stuff will come out for sure, and sooner than you think.
