MoT drift day, Silverstone, 21st May - anyone going?
Discussion
Just booked myself onto this:

Anyone else coming? Oh, and does anyone know how much damage I'm likely to do to a set of Avon CR500s on a nice lightweight Caterham over the course of the day? Am I likely to be able to drive back afterwards do you reckon or do I need to look at buying some of their worn 'drift tyres' for the day?

Pump them up as high as they will go... you will probably do quite a bit of wear to them.
I know this is a 'piece of string' question, but any idea how much? They're probably 30% worn currently, if I pump them up is there a chance of doing the whole day and driving back on the same set do you reckon? Basically they're rather manky age-hardened tyres and I want to finish these off before fitting a fresh set for more sympathetic use.Great day. A reasonable amount of track time (obviously one car on track at a time and a shortish circuit limits it a little, but better than you might expect), well organised and the friendliest track day crowd I think I've ever encountered. It's the second MoT event I've been to - neither with a Mazda I hasten to add - and would definitely go again.
