A 1307 dual carriageway going towards Linton. I was doing 80 when my radar detector picked him up but I think it may have been too late.

It was a police van with a camera facing the traffic. Is there any chance they could have been looking for tax discs?

Not with a Radar!

If your radar detector went off then it was probably a mobile gatso unit.

Does anybody know what the cut off is here. I think I probably got down to about 77 - 78 by the time they got me.

From evidence on here, in a safe 70 limit most BiB won't prosecute you at this speed.

However, a civilian Talivan operator on behalf of a 'safety partnership' will work in the same manner as a traffic warden, they'll do you for anything.

It was a police van but I could not see if there was a plod inside or a civilian operating the camera.

The last I heard the cut off was 10% ie in a 70 limit you had to generally be doing 77 to get nicked. Is that still the case?
