Years ago, when I were a young lad, chasing the filly down't local Chicago Rock, my bestest mate always seemed to love buying two bottles of blue WKD each in a pint glass and making us drink them having quaffed many a sambuca.

For some random reason, it ALWAYS gave me some sort of heart burn/attack type feeling, with pains in my chest and arms.

It wasn't limited to me either, another mate had the same problem.

What the ruddy hell is in that awful stuff?

Can't help but when I was a youngster I used to drink pints of stella until I'd had enough, and then switch to Reef - which was if you remember kinda like pure orange with alcohol in it.

That always always resulted in bad things happneing to my insides.

Ah to be younger again.

Fizzy water, sugar, colouring, flavouring and vodka.
Could you be allergic to any of the above..?

I find that alcopops give me heartburn if I have more than a couple (Smirnoff Ice are the worst).

Other than that, not a clue.

Maybe he added a little something extra? Are you allergic to Flunitrazepam?

These alcopop drinks are far too sickly for me, they taste just like childrens sweets and makes my teeth feel all sugary. I can stomach one bottle, but after that the flavour is just too much and I feel bloated. It is also worth mentioning that they are fizzy.

I often see these alco pops on offer when out on the piss up to clubs or bars so they may be a cheap way to drink alcohol, if you want a night out and don't have too much money (students etc).

Mix it with port, 50:50.

Still gives you heart burn, but tastes just like Vimto!

I think alcopops have wholeheartedly been replaced by VodBull now. Never see anyone drinking them...

Tequila, Vodka & Red Bull in a large glass with large measures all buried in ice lick

And yes I did sometimes wake up wide awake in the middle of the night after a TVR session wondering what on earth was going on yikes
