Not sure if we are allowed to name and shame on here so S**** is a well known petrochemical company with a yellow and red logo that looks like a shell.... wink

I have a S*** V-Power Club loyalty card and have done for about a year (I only buy S**** petrol now). I noticed a while ago that I've never received any of the money off fuel vouchers through that they are supposed to send each quarter automatically but have forgot about chasing it up, until last Thursday.

My story goes:
Thursday am - I email S****, with my name, membership number, and query
Thursday pm - email from S****, we will investigate your query
Friday pm - email from S****, please confirm your postcode for security reasons
Friday pm - I email S**** my postcode
Monday am - email from S****, please confirm your date of birth for security reasons
Monday am - I email dob
Tuesday am - email from S****, please confirm your address for security reasons mad
Tuesday am - I email address
Weds pm - email from S****, we will investigate your query furious

I'm now considering my reply along the lines of:

Are you fcensoredg useless or just fcensoredg stupid? As you are going to tell me that my voucher total probably amounts to 1/2 a fcensoredg penny even though I've spent fcensoredg thousands of pounds on your fuel why don't you just stick your ccensoredg loyalty scheme up you a** and stop wasting my fcensoredg time, ccensoreds

Any other stories of complete ineptitude this week?

I was thinking this may have been a "I had to pay for what I ordered" rant.

Nah, can't see that ever happening, & even if it did it wouldn't be a very good thread.

  • Don't ask me why, but for some reason I've taken your one long post & cut into two smaller quotes....

Not allowed to name names so I will give us numbers. I am the protagonist and its my story so I get 01. They can get the number 02 (thats Zero Two if you were wondering)

Through to retentions manager trying to renew my contract.

Me - All I want is an off the shelf contract with a £5 bolt-on added for free.

Them - No.

Me - I have 4 contracts with you.

Them - Each contract is reviewed on its own merit.

Me - I am not a contract. I am a customer and I give you over £200 a month and have done for several years. Not asking the world I just want a 'fiver' a month free of charge.

Them - No

Me - Can you please give me the bolt-on for free. If you don't I am going to leave.

Them - PAK Code is on its way. Now Mr TD I see one of your other contracts is due for renewal. Would you like to discuss renewing your iPhone contract today?

Me - Yes. Cancel it.

Them - But with the new Siplicity contract you can ......

Me - Cancel it.

I am with Orange now.

This seems to be the week of getting st customer service for me for some reason.

Seriously, I'm not asking the world simply a polite 'thanks' thrown into the exchange. You don't need to slam what I'm buying on the counter, and when I ask 'Did you get the cigarettes?' I'm not, in fact, asking for a defensive rant about how I never finished telling you which ones, just a 'yes' or 'no' so that I can repeat my fking order.

On the other side of things . .

Bought a set of Bose speakers on eBay.
Somehow won them for a bargain price and when I collected them the seller conveniently didn't give me a couple of caps to cover where the speakers bolt to the stands . . . and I didn't know there were supposed to be any.
The stands are worth £50+ on their own and I won't be using them so emailed Bose today about buying the caps.
2 hours later they email back saying they're £20 each but they're sending a pair out free of charge.

So guess where you but your next speakers from, and recommend to friends? Excellent customer service, and pays in the long run.

I've just come round to renewal time with a phone company, possibly the same one as you and found them to be poor on renewal this time round. They've previously been miles better but this time didnt seem interested. I may also have a brightly coloured contract now.

Not really bad service as such but more just a contrast... I was at the deli counter of the supermarket and they have about 2kg+ left of one of the sliced meats that was on its date (which looked fine to me as i wanted sandwich filling for the following day). The woman at that end of the counter sold me a slice at half price - i'd asked how much a couple were but didnt want to pay the 'full' whack for it so ended up with the one.... At the other end of the counter another woman sold me a large lump of dried ham also on its date but knocked it down to 1/4 of its already reduced price which was what i was hoping for with the first lot. Cheap i know but there you go- More beer money smile
