Links from other sites.
Do not over submit, do a google on free search engine submission and pick any that does the main ones - google, yahoo etc
also goto dmoz and submit to that as it provides results for alot of the other engines.
But basically the more links you can create from other sites preferably related the better, message boards (but dont go over board) and generally asking people to link to you I spend min an hour most days just going round requesting links from other sites to ours
