Very strange, over the last couple of days I have had 3 emails purporting to be from a high end property company called "The Wow House Company".

It details a few properties (one of which is apparantly "hush hush" as the famous actress owner wants it kept quiet!) with PDF attachments.

There's no "to" address in the header, and the "from" is a yahoo address which makes me suspicious of the attachments...

Do I post up the details hehe, email them and tell them, or just delete!? biggrin

I'm intrigued, but I don't really know what you're implying?

An employee of said company moonlighting with their 'house stock''?

What do they want from you?

I don't know what I'm implying! Moonlighting hadn't occurred to me.

I can't understand

1) how I got on their mailing list
2) why they are using a yahoo address and not a registered domain

Of course it might be spam, but can pdfs be harmful? What's to gain if not?

Looks genuine enough, couldn't hurt to call the 'normal' looking phone number to enquire.

What made me think of the moonlighting angle was that the email you received appears to go to some length to be effectively anonymous...

It does look fishy though, why else would a proper company send email from an account which smells fishy?

Quite, I've drafted an email, but I don't really want to show that the email address is "live"...

There was a thread on this a few months ago.

Could you find a link? Google came up with nothing and is usually very good at indexing PH threads...

This address is a few miles from me and I know the business park well. The location is a little odd for such a business. A friend is involved with the security of the area, I'll mention it to him, see if he knows anything about them.

If my experience selling and buying over the past couple of months is anything to go by, no communication of any kind from any estate agent is genuine.

The concept was exactly the same - which is what I remembered - but the company name may have been different (no doubt the first version went bust!)

What do you mean concept? The concept of the company, or the random sending out of unsolicited mail from a yahoo address?
