If I buy the latest from their site for my unit, is it possible to also update the misses' tomtom too?

Just don't buy the map for Spain, it's worse than useless. I'm guessing you weren't intending to but I spent £40 on it and it and haven't had the chance to rant about it. It tried to take me the wrong way down one way streets constantly in every town, tried to direct me onto motorways that weren't actually complete and didn't have a lot of junctions on it that must have been a year old at least. wkers.

Lord Melchett: Farewell, Blackadder [hands him a parchment]. The foremost cartographers of the land have prepared this for you; it's a map of the area that you'll be traversing. [Blackadder opens it up and sees it is blank] -They'll be very grateful if you could just fill it in as you go along. Bye-bye.

make sure you backup your tomtom first - all of your favourites will be erased when you upgrade the map.

Do a backup
Upgrade the map
search your pc for the favourites file (mapsettings.cfg I think not on home PC today to check)
Copy the file from your PC over the now blank one on your tomtom

I used the spain maps to navigate around tenerife. they were ok, but several times tried to take my down road that no longer existed and clearly hadnt for a lot of years.
