I have a Panasonic home cinema system with a wireless remote rear amplifier (SC-PT860EB-K to those it means anything to).
The rear amp has started to fail - there is sound from one speaker but not the other. I have made sure the speakers & cables are fine.
Approved Panasonic service centres want a minimum £50 just to look at it! That seems way too expensive to me - I can't believe that unit could cost much more than £50!
Is there anyone out there with the skills & knowledge to look at this thing for me or failing that, could anyone recommend somewhere who won't rip me off or charge the earth just to replace the inevitable burnt-out resistor?

Jones Radio.
It's been years since I've used this place so don't know if they're still going but the guys there were very friendly and sourced me some components I was having trouble finding.
Very knowledgeable about all AV equipment.

That's a standard, if cheap, service charge. The rear amp has started to fail - there is sound from one speaker but not the other. I have made sure the speakers & cables are fine.

You couldn't fill your car up with petrol for that.
If it's only worth £50 new why not just buy another?
