it's not even funny any more.

even the small things:

"Theresa May famous for shoes and calling the Conservatives the Nasty Party"

no she wasn;t she was famous for telling the conservatives they need to change their image because they were perceived as the 'nasty party'.

at the moment they're wittering on about this 55% of votes to dissolve parliament (burying the fact that a vote of no confidence will remain as 50% of the vote (ignoring the fact that fixed term parliaments are actually a good idea.

even though we're got a bunch of lefties in our govt they're still having a go. how can this be right? how can it be right that when we're in danger of having a governemtn that might actually be in danger of being positively progressive that this bunch of ne'er do wells think they can keep preaching this anti-conservative twaddle.

wkers.

I'm sick of the BBC and their right-wing Conservative bias.

There, I've gone and said it. I might be a few years too early, though.

I can live with it a little more now, now that it matters less.

Might I suggest having a quiet spell in a darkened room.

It matters because you are forced to pay for it. The Guardian can be as left wing as it wants because you're free to make a choice if you want to pick up the filthy rag.

Time to scrap the compulsory licence fee.

I stopped paying the licence fee.

Consequently I've had to stop watching live TV too, but I'm content not paying and just watching on demand, which is mostly what I was doing with a PVR box anyway.

probably true. looking for bias on bbc news reports is like looking for a dayglo green elephant in an airing cupboard with a 2,000 candle power light fitted isn't it...

Society has been shaped by 13 years of communism.

Hopefully over the next 5 years, key appointments will be made and roles changed to reflect a more sensible liberal economics agenda based on merit, effort, efficiency and the free market.

Then schooling, the media etc will reflect a more long term sustainable approach to economic growth and prosperity rather than a culture of entitlement, envy and waste born from a failed communist agenda.

Stopped paying it also, its a mug's bks tax. Yes it maybe better tellie than abroad except for hbo but who cares. It's luke warm entertainment for christ's sake, there's no reason for the communist financing like its essential for all to have.

F1 is good though but sitting watching adverts flying round a track should pay for itself.

I've just been listening to "Feedback" on Radio 4 and a Lib Dem guest was accusing the BBC of anti Lib Dem bias and a Labour guest was accusing the BBC of anti Labour bias.

I guess people always see their views unfairly represented in the media - especially on the BBC.

Look up the definition of comunism then come back when you're educated enough to contribute to an adult conversation.

Exactly. People with a strong political bais themselves tend to see anything that doesn't strongly support their view as biased towards the other side.

i entirely understand this (BUT!)

if that's the case then in that case the answer must be piss poor journalism. my issue is things like the theresa may nasty party thing. if it isn't bias then it's just weak reporting. arguably the latter is even worse if i am paying for it! smile

I actually think that there HAS been a left wing bias on the BBC over the past ten years or so. Don't forget, in the 80s the BBC came under extreme pressure from the Cionservatives and I think an anti-Conservative culture emerged from that era. I would hope that now we have a more moderat Conservative government in place, we might see that feeling of siege at tyhe BBC gradually fade away.

That's selling plenty of people short though; I think the BBC is biased towards Labour, I think Sky is biased towards the Conservatives. I have a preference for the latter so I'm more vocal about the former, but it doesn't mean I'm unaware of bias in the other direction.

The universal standard of journalism throughout the campaign was astonishingly poor. The number of issues and incidents that were not reported, glossed over or smothered by an interview with Mandy/Gove/Ashdown, etc. was remarkable.

When they talked of the Digital or Facebook election that didn't happen, it did - so much of it was the blogs and twitterers who leaked stories that the mainstream were unwilling to report.
