Trying to book a hotel in Crete, any recomendations, big or small dosent matter must aimed at adults, no kids a bonus. Just need a chill out week recovering from minor back operation.

Elounda Village - superb place, we had a room with a private pool there last summer, never been more relaxed.

In fact any of the Elounda places are good.

It is, if you can though do get one with a private pool - there are a couple of others and a beach but they are all very small.

Got back late Sunday, first chance I have had to say thanks for the recomendation, that table looks familiar. Missed your advice for the private pool bungalow but ours was fine, all the other facilities were good. The only critisisms on "Tripadvisor" were pluses for me, Dress code for Dinner, No Entertainment, Child unfriendly, add in the bonus of no Russian Scumbags a near perfect week.
Would post some pictures but not sure how yet.
thanks again,

Really glad you enjoyed it John - and relieved too! You know how it is suggesting something to people!

It's one of the few places I would return to. yes

Elounda is beautiful isn't it. We stayed at the Elounda Peninsula a couple of summers ago. Had a cracking time and will definately be going back.

Hey chaps, dropped you both a PM regarding Elounda.

We're having a look at it for an honeymoon this August and I was wondering if you had any thoughts or advice?

I have tried to PM you but am in Australia on holiday at the moment so struggling with internet connections at times. We realy enjoyed that hotel in Crete quite civilised no kids, no entertainment, dress for dinner (trousers not shorts/beachwear) suited us. It is quite a large hotel so maybe not so intimate for a honeymoon up to you, i could recommend more romantic spots but it depends on your budget. That hotel in Crete is in some of the package brochures at good rates and if you told them it is your honeymoon they would look after you, they deliverd a cake and sparkiling wine to the room for my birthday. As mentioned some of the rooms/bungalows have a private pluge pool on the terrace but be warned some are shared with the adjacent room so not totaly private.
Hope this helps
let me know is your require any thing else
regards

Johnny-b has summed up pretty well, depends on which room to the size of the pool, we had a reasonable size one that wasn't shared.
I'll respond to your PM in a bit, and give you the low down on another place we found that is quite superb wink
