Sparks from Washing Machine motor
Discussion
My Miele washing machine has been making a funny noise, sort of a ticky buzz from the motor. I took off the lower front panel and can see that the main drive motor brushes are sparking quite significantly. Anyone know if this is normal? Does it mean the brushes are worn out (machine is about eight years old) and if so are they easily replaceable? I don't want to call out Miele service unless absolutely necessary as they charge £80 just for a call out!
Thanks

Sounds like brushes to me.
Certainly the cheapest option in a diy repair punt. If you can't source any for that specific model you can try getting similar brushes that are larger and just file them down.
Indeed it is the brushes -one of them worn down to nothing. Bought a new set on ebay for £18.95.Certainly the cheapest option in a diy repair punt. If you can't source any for that specific model you can try getting similar brushes that are larger and just file them down.
Thanks to all (even for the dodgy pun).
