mate of mine got caught the other day and got 3points and a fine. he was caught by a speed gun 800m away and was told by the police they couldnt tell him exactly what speed he was doing but it must have been over 80. now to me their just having a laugh and bumping up their statistics for the A9 or am i wrong

surely they need to be accurate beforing charging you.

The opinion of a police officer is taken as an expert witnesses opinion in court. If, in the officer's opinion, your friend was exeeding the posted limit (even without any electronic wizardry)that's it i'm afraid.

Doesn't it need either 2 coppers or a copper and a speed detection device? So if it was a copper alone and his speed gun didn't register is this legal?

Correct Icamm

Offence of speeding has to have corroboration by law.
Either two officers at the same spot - second to corroborate. One officer with handheld - to corroborate. Officer in patroil car with certified speedo (corroborate). Vascar - pc + speed distance computor.

How would you stand with a jammer. Couldn't they just say you were exceeding the limit then.
