Anyone else having problems downloading an AV update from AVG today...

Or have I been hacked?

I tried updating my pc's last night and had some trouble but they came down eventually - Grisoft do seem a little slow delivering updates when demand is high. Keep trying tho' you should get it in the end.

Perhaps the download(s) are slow due to that new virus thats been in the papers this week ?

hmm got me thinking ...

1.) The ink from the papers gets on your hand then when you type passes through the keyboard to your hard disk.
Takes 5 mins on USB 1.1 and 5 secs on USB 2 . If you have an older ps-2 type keyboard takes a couple of days.

OR

2.) You were reading the newspaper online

:-)

it shouldn't be a dialup issue

It's a bandwidth/servers one, AVG's free version doesn't have the bandwidth of Norton because it's free. So when a wave of new virii appear and the media picks up on it, everyone updates their AV, and they can't cope.

I managed to get a connection last night, it ranged from 617 to 3k/s

Give it a little bit of time
