Interesting video on a new transmission

While discussing this on another forum, including speculating that the two shafts would need similar torque input to prevent one from driving the other, one contributor noted that this was nothing more than a differential from a tracked vehicle. There's nothing revolutionary about it at all.
Apologies if that sounded belittling towards you - it most certainly wasn't intended that way. It's more aimed at people who try to pass off old designs or patents as their own.
For sure it's sometimes the clever application of an old design or patent that really makes it work, but in this case I simply don't believe their assertions that a low powered motor (electric in their case) can be the controller over the "gearbox", and I find it irritating that in their research they must have come across this design before, so why pass it off as their own?
