Not quite my cup-o-tea but its an oddity that is nevertheless interesting.

One of my all time favourite cars. I love the quirkiness, the subtlety, the elegance. Little is known of production figures other than that thy're very rare. Most used models come up for sale through the manufacturer. I've seen used cars a few years old for over £100k. This could be a bargain but would probably be tricky to sell on with little history and maintenance costs through the manufacturer are anyone's guess.

It looks like a cut'n'shut amalgamation of the back of a Senator and the front of an old XJ. The whole thing has then been compressed inwards to the ungainly height of a Hackney Carriage and then melted until droopy.

The dashboard came out of David Dickinson's lounge and the gear lever from Jenna Jameson's bedside drawer.

It's utterly hideous, misconceived and foul. Yet I still want it. 100 grand is madness. Maybe for 5, and with a manual gearbox, but such a price is bonkers.

It is indeed horrible, its a badly designed car with a plastic grille and bad lines with some generic euro-box rear lights.

But, it probably smells nice, is comfortable as hell, is definatly quirky and will be worth more money in a few years time.

If I lived near the auction I would almost certaily go and have a bash at buying it, if the auction is full of people who want to buy Epos systems and other general flarn then it might go for peanuts.

Blue leather seats, flaps for stuff in the front wings and that dash. Winner.

I've seen a '09 one of these, it lives near where i work in a kind of 'baby blue' colour. Takes a certain kind of person to shell out for one of these i would imagine. Very cool (in a very weird way), but not for me.

I don't understand how Bristol do it. They have made some great looking cars, but they also make some monsters. Add in the price, and I fail to see what people find attractive. A Fighter looks great, but many years ago I remember my father pointing out a 408, which looked ok, but was much, much more than a Rover P5 Coupe. It was Rolls Royce money for Rover looks.

Thinking about it, I can't even remember the last time I saw a Bristol.

P.S. Sorry to the 408 owners who I've offended. biggrin
