God it's so frustrating when it's busy and you are queuing up for them and the people using them just have NO CLUE how to use them.

I kind of like them but loath them for that reason.

I assuming they must have done some study to show most people can adapt and learn, but from what I am seeing just scanning a bar code is too much for some people.

Coming soon to a forum near you:

"fking tts! I had to queue up for petrol whilst some no-mark did their shoppping in the kiosk"

Think of the positives OP. What have you done this weekend that you enjoyed?

LOL well that's not a good analogy. Thing of someone not knowing how to use the petrol pump.

I have had £30 from walking past them and spotting notes left there. They are not all that bad.

Was behind this dimwit who was scanning her shopping only to stop & call for assistant & insist that 3 of the items she had scanned, she didn't put in her basket! I mean, for fu** sake you stupid fu**ing balloon who the hell put these items in your basket if you didn't!!!!! I ended up going to another checkout whilst this dumfu** sorted her life out & god only knows how she managed to find Tesco let alone decide what shopping she wanted! My conclusion was, must have either escaped or some sort of day release!

Should care...

Next time you steal a tenner, try looking up. There, you'll see a cluster of CCTVs.

Come to think of it, they probably already have a picture of you, so it might be wise to not go back there again.

They're handy IMO, although they piss me off when they shout at you "Unexpected item in bagging area" when there clearly isn't.

Asda's seem to shout everything, far too loud even for a busy supermarket. Morrison's have the worst design though whereby you scan in the item then have to walk round the scanner to get to your bags which is okay if you only have 1 thing but even with only 10 it can get annoying.

If someone in front of me has left it then I would tell them, If i'm walking past and see it sat there I will take it.

If I see somebody in front of me leave money, I'll make sure that they get it. If I walk up to an empty scanner and find money in it, I'm keeping it. If I hand it in then somebody else will just pocket it.

I've found money in them a couple of times and kept it and have no remorse about it.

Once I went to use a cash machine only to find somebody had left a card inside with the PIN already entered. I removed the card and handed it in at the bank immediately. Last night I saw somebody drop a full packet of cigarettes and I picked them up and returned them.

Once money is on its own in a supermarket scanner then there is no way that it is going to be given back to its owner.

I agree they are too loud. Working as the supervisor on them would drive me insane.

They're far better than they were when they first came out, some could still do with being a bit faster/less laggy though.

They do seem to attract retards. Like the chap paying for his solitary apple with a credit card the other day.

Morality aside, if you're spotted by security from an overhead CCTV, you'll get done for theft.

If you take the credit card, it'll be impossible for you to prove you intended to take to the bank.

You tread a hazardous path...

When I found the card, it was in a machine that was actually on the outside of a bank. All I did was remove it and take the card to an employee inside the building.

Is it ok to 'take' a parked (empty) car then? I mean the owner may never come back and reclaim it right?
