VDO Dayton MS5400 Satnav

I just got my new car, a 2003 MX5 and it came fitted with a VDO Dayton Satnav system.
It has a DVD unit in the boot coupled to a 5.8" screen up front, remote control and a folder of different countries maps.
It looks like you can hook it up to a few things like AV module, reverse camera, and traffic module.
I can't decide whether to spend any effort looking for these add-ons or not.
It was originally £1300 or so ack in the day.
Retro-chique, or outdated tech?
Anyone got any info/experience?
