Anyone bought and playing?

Finished the first couple of episodes and it is a fantastically put together game, BUT...this really isn't a game to play late at night - some genuinely jumpy moments already.

In a way, it reminds me of the first Resident Evil game for atmosphere.

I'm playing it now, in daylight and it still gives me the creeps.

It's the sounds, they're so atmospheric. The rustle of grass, the creepy voices in the distance, the shift in music, then an axe flying out of the darkness and someone running out of the shadows.

Nope its not going to be either

When this game was designed MS wanted to make the best DX10 game possible to show off what the new DX10 and Vista could do with the top of the range graphic cards avaliable.

However since then MS decided to turn its back on Windows and only make games on the 360, so that means it dosnt look anywhere near as good as the shots in the PC mags and its gone back to running what is the equivilant of DX9.

I would say it took me around 25 to 30 hours whilst looking around for all the pickups, etc.... Still didn't find them all, missing 4 manuscripts, 2 thermoses, 2 crates and 1 TV frown

Finished it for the second time last night getmecoat

Awesome game, Finaly finished it last night but not sure if my nerves could take a second run through just yet! reminds me a lot of the only other game to actually scare me, which was the 1st silent hill on the ps1. You know they got it right with this game when you keep finding yourself standing with your back against a wall, waiting for something to come at you, which it never does............until you relax, think its ok and move into the open!

I'm about 5 chapters in, it's a good game, the combat is a bit samey, and I really hate how you keep losing your weapons and starting again, as I hang onto the good stuff for the tough situations, and then lose it all...

The story is really good though..

hmm, just finished it.

quite short, only about 10 hours gameplay i'd say - and will the story ending was good, there wasnt really any challenge in it..

shame, it could have been a good build up..

really?

i didnt find it scary at all - i can see where its trying to make you jump, but other than being slightly surprised the first time, its so obvious when and where its going to do it, its not scary at all...

Recently grabbed both titles as free on gold on xbox... Had avoided them originally as I didn't think they would be good. But free, no risk. So glad I didn't bother originally or right now I would not be enjoying the fantastically atmospheric story. Only just started the first, so beautiful to look at, so atmospheric and one of the few games to make me jump... In fact , the last game to make me jump was resident evil on the ps1 when the dogs jumped through a window.
