Insular car building can be a very lonely and frustraing experience sometimes!

Does anyone know of a good auto-electrician around the Cheletenham/Evesham/Tewkesbury/Worcester/ Stratford-upon-avon area, that could visit for a day or more to assist?

He ideally needs to be experienced in working with LS series wiring..and that is not easy to find!

My project (Ultima with LS7) has slowed to a trickle due to the many dilemmas posed by marrying up the LS7 loom to std Ultima loom + SPA Dash system, and although I am no numpty, my lack of experience in this is causing me some grief and frustration.

Here are some of the problems which I would dealy love to pass over to someone that could sort it out far more quickly than me!

1. The LS7 loom I have is a modified corvette version. It appears to have a speedo feed and a tacho feed, yet so does the main Ultima loom (from the engine bay back to the instruments). Just to confuse the issue still further, I have an SPA dash system to fit, and this also has a speedo (hall effect) wire and a tacho wire.

2. The SPA dash has two pressure and two temperature sensor wires + sensors. What is the best usage/ connections for the LS7?

3. I was advised to beef up the +ve wire to the LS7 Alternator post since I was told that this unit pushes 55 amps. The original Ultima loom has one dark brown 17amp + one light brown 27amp wire strapped together for this post, and I have run another 27amp wire back to the front of the car - I presume this is correct?
...but I have no idea where the 27amp brown wire is supposedly connected at the front as I can't see it exposed anywhere at all?

I am sure there is more....

Any advice/offers of help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Keith

The dash and the engine will be totally seperate I'd assume, and would not use common sensors.

Have you contacted Ultima ? They do build these cars with LS7 motors surely ?

As for engine loom. Is it a bodged loom, or an aftermarket lom intended for an LS engine install ?

You could maybe give Tinker-27 a shout off here, although he's up in Birmingham.

He's done a few LS conversions into RX-7's

Or maybe Gardner Douglas who build the kit car thingys
