This will be my little diet blog, so that you get the idea i am 6ft2 but weighing 16st 9lbs at the moment and not looking or feeling too good.

So this is day one i have had a medium sized bowl of fruit and fibre for breakfast and a cup of green tea, and tonight i shall venture back to the gym.
i'm going to post up how i'm getting on and weight loss etc as an incentive to keep going with it, my target weight is 14st.

Cheers

hehe

On a serious note.. probabaly a good idea. If you have blips, or struggling with motivation i'm sure there will be plently of PH'ers ready to give you a kick up the backside shoulder you need it. Will be a good way of getting some motivation and encouragement when you need it.

Make sure you get speeling and grammar right, otherwise you may be inundated with comments like the previous one!smile

Don't go hell for leather in the first week or two, it's easier to de-rail yourself.

Post a pic of your body now (or at least take one of yourself and save it), then come back to it in a couple of months and look at what progress you've made. thumbup

If this is all you do for the next month, you will definitely lose weight... might not be that good for you, though. nuts

You needn't have posted that pic. hehe

It's not much to lose - eat healthily, cut down on anything you think is bad for you (beer, pies, chips, cake) and move a bit more. You could easily and healthily sustain a lower weight for years. You may plateau, in which case, cut down a bit more still.

and taking half naked pictures in a public toilet is a bit ghey, you could have at least waited till you got home wink
Who knows. Maybe he'd just put on his jeans to take that photo.

Thats not THAT bad. I am worse than that (well, slightly).

Dont go on a diet, they don't work in the long run. I succesfully lost weight on a diet, and then realised (after the weight has gone back on) that it doesn't need to be a "diet", it needs to be a lifelong change of habits.

Personally, I am not pissing about with protein shakes and the like either. I am simply cutting down (not eliminating) bread, pasta, wine, cakes, making small changes here and there, just basically trying to eat healthy, but I wont go hungry, I wont allow myself. If I feel hungry, I'll eat, but I'll make sure its at least reasonably healthy.

I am going for walks every day, at least 3 miles, and always involving lots of hills and steps. I am also going to the gym 3 times a week, doing chest+triceps / back+biceps / legs+shoulders.

I'm keeping it simple, because it has to be done for life and has to be sustainable.

SO to echo what others have said, my diet is thus: Eat less st, do more exercise.

not a public loo, it's the office loo at work and i'm the only one who works here so not GHEY!

Anyway last night i did 10 3 minute rounds on the heavy punchbag followed by some skipping and then deadlifts and some sit-ups, i feel better already.

Jesus, are we onto posting fat photos now? I'll see if I can summon up the gheyness in me to do one later - although I've lost quite a lot now, so it would be more of a 'not thin' pic.

Bag work is supposedly very good for cardio/fitness/losing weight; shadowboxing isn't bad either. That's not an invite to come round and kick my head in, though.
