"Mr Byrne insisted that his parting message was meant as a private joke.

“My letter was a joke, from one Chief Secretary to another,” he said today. “I do hope David Laws’ sense of humour wasn’t another casualty of the coalition deal.”
C t. and a bad loser.

He should be beaten to death. And his scumbag frainds who ruined this country. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

The fact that they actually feel that bankrupting the country is a joke says a lot. They still have the death sentence for Treason don't they?

Just read an article in the Mail about this, smacks to me of piss taking childish behaviour, Labour took office with a surplus and in 13 years have left us in a worse mess than when Maggie took over.

This note along with the mumblings of the deliberate scorched earth tactics should leave no right-minded person any doubt that voting Labour is nothing short of an admission of insanity.

How can it be funny? It's basically a statement of fact..................

"it was a one-sentence letter"

Ah, the Liam Byrne way of thinking.

"Never put anything to me unless you understand it and can explain it to me in 60 seconds,"

I don't think it's funny. He should be grovelling to be forgiven, not making stupid jokes.

It is not a statement of truth - the situation is FAR worse than merely no money left.

It was a joke in poor taste given the situation, however how many jokes fit that description.

Hardly cause for the death penalty.

Calling for someone to be hung or kicked to death says more about the poster then the minister in question...tongue out

You guys need to untwist your knickers biggrin

I tell you what, mate, if it's no big deal, you can pay my 40k debt that these socialist fktards have left us with? Some of us take a lifelong tax burden created due to fiscal irresponsibility on a scale that transcends irresponsability and enters the realms of the criminal seriously. IMHO Ministers need to learn that criminal negligence with the lives of our soldiers and our companies finances pays the ultimate price.

Actually as a joke it was pretty funny. Because all the best jokes have an element of truth in them.

The Timms jokes thread was in marginally better taste, considering, but also pretty funny.

I'm all for politicians having a sense of humour rather than being only about tribalistic spite.

This wasn't a joke, poor taste or otherwise. It was a cheap and nasty final bit of crowing. Not to mention a good indication of just how much class the outgoing losers possessed.

I'd second (or is it third, now?) the treason suggestion...

Why is it all the pro-labour supports come out with an excuse everytime?

With this it was all a joke... and Tories should chill out.

With the bigot statement... It was the sky reports fault as Murdock put them up to it and what is said in private is not meant to be repeat... She was a bigot anyway!!

With the leaking of twitter results... It was an honest mistake anyone could do it and let her off as you are just over reatcting you would not win that seat anyways.

With the Sacked Mr Cowan... lets sack him but dont and allow him to still compete and come 3rd, but lets support a person which is doing weird stuff (stalking, etc)

Not a single of the 50 investigations for irregularities for postal votes has come to anything... what a suprise there.

changing the boundaries to make sure a) tories would need the biggest swing in 80 years to win outright and b) lib dems get bugger all seats but not having that many less votes than Labour.

Gloating that it will be a LabLib coalition and then thinking that you would get one over on the Tories then spitting you dummy and throwing all the toys out of the pram when you dont get it.

Publicly goading the new coalition and sting they have no chance, are going to ruin the country etc... when 13 years ago when labour got in power you were given 100 days of peace and quiet to settle in to the job.

Good god you lot are bitter, twisted losers who still think that you deserve something off the state without putting anything in or are complaining cause your 13 years of cushy work in the public sector is going to smashed apart, so that Tory/Lib coalition can go and save this country from bankrupcy that you guys created... so at least how some self respect for fking up this country and for once shut the fk up and let them get on with their massive uphill task that the Labour government have left as their legacy.

Jeez...

The Timms joke thread was about someone who'd been stabbed and could have died. Different league IMHO.

The only person that sounds bitter is you and who are the twisted losers exactly??. And what part of the country do you stay in thats so fked up as you put it? The way some people go on here makes me think that there living in Shanty towns with no food or water to look after there kids.

Sure there is a deficit - so what, calm down and just get on with it.
