Me being new to MX5s, I've been looking around at some lovely examples of modified MX5s and I began wondering:

What's the usual modifications made to MX5s and what websites deal with the sale and supply?

Same position as you.. Just got my '5 and have a list of things I need..

MX5 parts will be taking many of my hard earned, but they do lots of stuff biggrin

Exhausts are common, there are quite a few for sale on MX5Nutz at the moment.
Induction for some extra engine noise
Windblockers/Roll Over Bars
Coilovers/Wheel alignment

I've already told you all this...!

www.mx5parts.com
www.autolinkmx5.com to start with - get that o-ring changed and give it a service.

Then look on clubroadster.net and mx5nutz.com

If you value your bank balance - dont start with the mods. At all. Because it never stops.

Yours is silver huh -

Clubroadster.net is amazing.

Oh - if you're replacing a weepy CAS O-ring, check the flexy heater pipe below it for swelling / oil absorbence. Mine needed replacing (only costs a few quid).

Anything JDM seems popular. Watanabe wheels, KG Works interior bits, Garage Vary lips, Tuckin arches, ARC induction kits, etc.

My alterations arent really to change the car but more as improvement to the existing. (if that makes sense)

only thing i changed on mine -

clear side repeaters

clear (white) reflectors

Genuine mazda floot mats

mesh grill at the front to give the radiator some protection from large stones

Electric aerial (the standard one is a massive non retracting thing) mines wired on a switch not to the radios aerial control circuit, so i can have it down when I listen to mp3's

MP3 box that plugs into the standard radio (it fools the radio into thinking it has a CD multichanger fitted) this was quite expensive, £60 and can be quite tempremental sometimes

Front fogs with custom wiring (these can be bought cheap as they are the same as the one used on a certain year megane, iirc they where about 10-15quid each)

I like that. I don't think it's that common though! I kinda wish I'd put it on though when I was replacing panels.

2004> picasso and 2002> meganes have the same front fogs as the mk2.5 mx5

like this one, might take some hunting to find a cheap one but i managed it.
