Filled up the tank (after payday!)and as I returned to the car after paying I noticed a petrol
leak from the tank area on the passenger side. I drove away as quick as I could to avoid removing tarmac
from the garage forecourt and found it was still leaking when I got it home.
It stopped after about a gallon or so had leaked away.

I did fill it virtually to the neck of the filler cap.It seemed to be running down the front face of the tank.
Is there a vent somewhere near the top of the tank or could it be a leak from the hose that connects the two
tanks together? This hasn't happened before so could the tank itself be leaking? Anyone else had this problem?

thanks

Dave

Think there is an overflow near the top of the filler neck.

As if you park on an incline after filling you alos get a leak !

On one tank I found in the past a non-used exit which is blocked (bit of petrol hose with a bolt in it!). Worth to check if it is still there and perhaps came unblocked by accident.

Location of the extra exit/connection: On my wedge it is on the opposite side of the filler cap, on one of the tank sides close to the top of it, close to the outside of the car. But this is a LHD and all TVRs are different as we know....

Thanks chaps
Sounds like it isn't much to worry about. I'll have a look under it at the weekend and report back.
Don't want to run out of petrol on the way to BBWF!

Dave, thought your car was Grey? The South Wales Convoy should be coming past your place for BBWF if you fancy tagging along again. Lthumbup:

Do check itsmile

My V8S hadn't been run for a while, I filled it up drove a little way and garaged her.

Overnight I lost 1/4 pint petrol, the same the next night. I thought maybe a seal had gone and when the level dropped it would be OK. Indeed it was, for about a week then it started to leak again. The tank was a bit like cheese.

Worth checkingsmile
