Wrong region PS3.

The Mrs. brought me a 2nd hand PS3 from a very nice south african
gentleman for Xmas the year before last.

Was (obviously) not allowed to use it before xmas, and had it for about 3 weeks before use.
Main reason I brought it was for playing Blu-Ray ( she had brought me an XBOX 360 the previous
xmas, as I was convinced that Blu-Ray would sink without a trace!)

Anyway, bottom line is, when I got around to connecting it up on Xmas day, I found that it was
"locked" to US region and would not play any UK region blu-rays...
I have since brought a blu-ray player, so this is not a problem, the only issue is, I do
sometimes play the PS3, and I know games are not region locked, but demos appear to be....
is there anything I can do?

As far as I am aware no one has managed region free on PS3 yet.

Sounds like you may need to change the regional settings so that it connects to the US PS Network, have a fiddle with the menus. That way you'd download the demos for the region the PS3 is from.

You might need to create a new account to do this, then switch between them when you want to download a demo.

PS 'brought' is the past tense of 'bring', 'bought' is the past tense of 'buy', just so you know for next time

I'll second this, I created a Japanese PSN account to download one of the original GT5 demos.

A quick Google brings up this... it should be easier to follow choosing UK rather than Japan
