I've been offered a blinding deal for a holiday in the Maldives in early July. I know its there wet season, but how bad is there wet season? 20 mins of tropical storms and then back to sun shine? Or just over cast all day?

I'd be surprised if you didn't get some sun most days. I've not been at that time of year though, but if the deal is good I'd risk it. It's hardly an unpleasant place to be even if it is raining anyway.

I think it can be cloudy for days on end although always at least some sun. But it shoudln't be constantly rainy. I am basing this on nothing but anecdotal evidence of friends experiencing cloudy weather there.
Still warm and beautiful though so if the deal is good enough I'd snap it up.
Id infinitely rather be there in the wet season than most other places in the normal season

I went a couple of years ago in mid-June and it was fine, one day of cloud (but still hot/pleasant) and 2-3 very brief but powerful showers which dried out in 30mins...

We went in August. The rain storms were mainly at night, and it was great to watch the lightning heading towards the island from the Ocean in the dark. We had 13 days of good sunshine.

Our transfers to/from the Airport by speedboat were both at night, in storms ... that was an experience!
