I'm thinking of getting rid of my 350z for something a little more economical as I don't feel like I really get much benefit from the car's performance since 90% of my journeys are spent crawling into work in rush hour traffic.

I intend to spend about £7k on a Focus diesel but reckon my 350z is probably worth about £11-12k. Is any dealer going to be interested in a p/x bearing in mind they're going to have to give me the difference in cash or am I going to have to try and sell privately?

I really struggled to find anyone who would take my 197 then give me a car and cash but I was looking something considerable cheaper than 7 grand, there was a bigger price differential between what I wanted rid of and what I wanted to get.

Found a garage in the end who would take the 197 and give me money as well as a car, they are out there. Times have changed since though.

You'll find a garage that'll give you cash plus the Focus, but you'll get bum r@ped in the process.

If time scales allow, secure the focus you want and sell the 350 private.

I think you'll find yourself getting a rough deal in the px value of yours so a private sale (if you have the time/inclination) might yield the best results.

And I prefer to call it're-grading' smile I did it at the beginning of this year, the old car was 5 years newer, this one has waaaaay more toys and is much more comfy!
