E90 inspection - how often?
Discussion
Got the inspection due on idrive within 5k miles , question is how often is this is it milage or time?
Reason I'm asking is I also have brake fluid due next month and have been told I'd save £25 by having both done at the same time which would I guess be 3,500 miles early on the inspection.
Advice please.
Brke fluid is £88
inspection is £110
both save £25

If its stating 5k miles then it must be distance rather than time, however youre probably aware that the Condition Based Maintenance is based on a very complicated algorithm, so it looks at many other factors, such as mileage, time, condition, the way you drive, etc, etc.....
I have an e90 also and i have just got the brake pad alarm up, however its telling me i have 5k of life, ive been in touch with a BMW dealer and theyre saying i have 500 to 1000 miles of life left in the pads and that they want £385 to change them. I think i might wait a little longer that the mileage BMW are quoting as the oil service is due in 7k, so i will get the oil and brakes done at the same time, rather than having 2 seperate trips to the dealers.

You could get the brake pads (and sensors) changed at any garage and reset the iDrive yourself. Brake pads are not covered by a BMW warranty either so there's nothing to worry about.
I had them done on my E60 M5 by a local garage where I know the people working there, cost me less than £150 for all four corners including sensors and the iDrive reset is very, very easy to do.
You won't get a stamp in a book by BMW but you'll get a receipt to keep with the car.

I'd drive the extra 3.5k miles and get the brake fluid done with the service.Reason I'm asking is I also have brake fluid due next month and have been told I'd save £25 by having both done at the same time which would I guess be 3,500 miles early on the inspection.
