Question as above really. Are there any specialists who can refurbish clutch master and slave cylinders.

I have a 20 year old car which certain parts are getting more difficult to get hold of. The above being a couple of them. Ideally if I can find somewhere that can do it I will buy a spare set of second hand items and then get them refurbed.

So anyone know of any companies? preferably on or near the South Coast...?

You can get rebuild kits for most, but some rebuilds are more suceessful than others. I've had success in the past rebuilding wheel cylinders & clutch hydraulics. Brakes International do some seals.

Both ends are a steel piston inside a steel cylinder with rubber seals maintaining the pressure. The latter are the wearing parts unless dirt has got into the hydraulic oil and scored the bores.

I used these in the past for a 1968 Lotus. you would have to post the parts off though I guess.

am guessing by ur username that it's a TVR - you should find some recommendations through a TVR club.
if there's any signs of marking/corrosion on the bores then you should get them done - if not it may just be a set of seals (relatively easy job)..if you're in any doubt get it looked at !

Thanks for the replies so far folks...

The car is a Renault 21 Turbo, although yes I have had several TVR's as my username implies. Some of the Turbo specific bits are next to impossible to get new hence why I'm planning ahead.

The ones on my car are working fine at the moment, although as with anything its only a matter of time before they will need doing.
