Audi a6 drivers door wont open from outside.

hi people i have an Audi a6 1.8t on a t-reg and cant get into the car unless someone opens the door from the inside. the handle on the outside just dont seem to work any help would be great. thanks

Assuming it's the same as the Passat of the same vintage then the cable has probably come off the door handle.

There's a torx screw under a plastic cover which when undone will allow you to remove the lock barrel then you should be able to see a cable coming off of the door handle inside the hole that the locking barrel leaves. Should just be a case of pushing it back into place.

If the door handles are different then I have no idea.

Hope it works out to be just that. My old Passat did the same when I bought it and I managed to spend £70 getting VW to fix it when it was just because the cable fell off.

couldnt find any screw near the hanndle.

Err, forget all of that. Just remembered that the Audi handles are completely different.

Reading this would suggest it's a door card off job to get to it. Still not sure if it uses the same cable system as the VW so could be something else altogether.
