changing the rear subframe (for one with new bushes) all going well.

get to the last star bolt on the prop shaft, wont budge, spray loads of plus gas, still nothing, then snap the body snapps. banghead

there is probably about 5mm of the head left and the thread.

so is there an easy way to get this out?

i do have a bolt extraction set, but there is not much room for a drill, and the last time i used it it went horribly wrong.

or is this going to be a case of put it all back together and take it to a garage?

cheers,
matt

Have you got acess to a dremel? Grind the bolt head down level with the prop flange and remove the prop. Now that the tension is off the threads it should wind out easily. Don't forget to replace it with a similar strength tensile bolt.

Google "Irwin bolt grip".
They have got me out of many a sticky situation, worth their weight in gold.

well ive had to put the car back together now, but i also managed to strip one of the bolts on the drive shaft, so ive now got to get both of them out.

ive just ordered some new bolts, so just now need to get the old ones out.

there is a decent amount of bolt still showing so im hoping this will do the job (just ordered it): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Stud-Bolt-Extractor-Remover-...

i don't have a dremel so i can't take the head off, but its definaly rusted in very well.

if this tool doesn't work i will have to break the head off and try and get something to grip onto the bolt and hope it shifts.

but i think i reed to re-grow some skin back onto my hands before i try hehe
