We're planning to go away for a couple of days for some wild camping. Has anyone any suggestions?

Thanks
Dan

Thanks for the replies.

I think the plan of action is to go somewhere local today and then head up to Avimore. The campsite that has been reccomended looks good!

Avon Skin ain't going to protect you against midges from that area. I'd take up pipe smoking or smear yourself in high temp grease although that can become a bit kinky.

Head up past Braemar to Linn of Dee. Park there and head up path towards Derry Lodge area.
Lots of good spots there for a bit of wild camping. Plenty of streams for water. Fantatsic wild environment.
As mentioned above, beware of the midges! Good starting point if you want to knock off a couple of Munro's as well.

Firewood is always in short supply there...
