A dishwasher weighed in for scrap?

I'm assuming some thieving person has half inched our old one from our drive (put there after removal while i waited for the weekend to come as the next opportunity to take it to the tip) as when i went to work it was there and when i came back it wasnt. And it isnt bin day.

Would this aggrieve anyone else? One half of me says it's great news and has saved me a job, but the other is a bit annoyed they came on to our drive and just took it. How do they know I wasnt just about to install it?

Should i report it?

A mate of mine who deals in scrap (as his 2nd job so to speak) said about a fiver-ish.

You've been saved a job. What's to complain about?

I have used this technique getting rid of all sorts of stuff from outside rental property in less than salubrious areas.

Scrappie's usual know what to take and what not to and he has saved you a job, it's not like the tip would have paid you for it and I can't imagine the authorities being very interested.

If it was pikey's looking for a working dishwasher even better. Isn't there some trick when you get a new PC, TV etc, to leave the old one in the new box on the drive and you'd be saved a trip to the tip, never tried it myself as I enjoy going to the tip (how sad is that) but knowing some of the people round here it would probably work.

As I said, half of me is chuffed - it saved me the hassle of a tip run.

I left 4 large radiators, an old washing machine, a 28" CRT telly and a cast iron bath on the driveway last year with a sign saying 'Free Stuff'. I went out for 3hrs, came back and it was gone.

I'm amazed someone had the carrying capacity to be honest, that was a lot of stuff!

Hmmm, thinking about it, pikeys usually have Transits...

Completely opposite to that, try having a skip delivered at 8am, go to work, come back at 6pm to find the bugger FULL with other peoples junk.
Skips don't come cheap! rage

They saved you a lot of hassle and I'd imagine they didn't think you'd be installing it when it was left outside the front door?
