Just found this on the Times website...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/a...

Sounds like N Korea has finally provoked someone into playing war games with them again. Fun times ahead. Wonder how far America and UN are going to stick their noses into this hornets nest?

Not much choice if NK decides to start a chemical attack on Seoul. Only needs some miscommunication and it could happen by accident.

Edit: Iran will be watching very closely

And China. Which I think supplies most of NK arms.

That is a huge problem for China if it does kick off. Where do their loyalties lie then?

It'll just be the NK's trying to blackmail the rest of the planet into giving them more aid, its like a labrador tugging at your ankles wanting to play or be fed!

From the BBC report;

'The White House described the sinking of the ship as an "act of aggression" by North Korea that challenged peace. '

Foook me. If someone sank a British Warship, i wouldn't regard it as 'an act of agression' it'd be an act of war, surely!?

Yes, but then *we* would be doing the shouting and having to say on the matter. SK is a different game entirely and the US has to moderate its language because it has 30,000 troops sat between SK and 1,000,000 NK troops.

I can't see anything happening. It's just another tester on their relationship.

Maybe they will declare war on each other!

Oh wait, they already did, years ago. Carry on.

This is precisely what is going on.

Does anyone know when the NK harvest occurs?

Kim knows precisely what he's doing; the US will do anything to avoid another conflict (as will SK, they've way too much to lose) and China is petrified of tens of millions of NKoreans rushing its border in panic.

Kim may well be insane but he's not suicidal.

Nothing will come of this.

We've been selling a lot of kit into South Korea for the past few months - normally a strong indicator that people are starting to get worried & are begining to line their troops up......

The West needs to stay well out of this. Leave them to it, nukes and all. That goes for the bloody UN as well.
