Given that I spent 30 minutes last night looking for something that wasn’t where it should have been...
...Make sure you have got together all of the documents you will need for your car now. I always take the following:-
1. Certificate of Insurance
2. MOT
3. V5
4. Breakdown Cover certificate/details.
Some people will need to call their insurance company to advise them of the dates the car is out of the country to ensure that they have full cover over there rather than just the legal minimum but all policies have their quirks.
Whilst you are at it you might as well also make sure you E111 card and passport are ready, and that the latter is in date.

Anyway you can normally pick them up cheap from the Motorway hard shoulders

Yep, there are a couple of others that I tend to take as well but really, having spent valuable time looking for the Insurance Certificate it occoured to me that mentioning this now gives people time to sort out duplicate copies before they go.1. I'm a little ahead on the packing myself though as i only have one free w/e before I leave on the 3rd (going via Spa and Zolder!)

I got out of the country OK but getting back in was a different story, they cancelled my existing passport and made me apply for another There not cheap now either

If you are on the motorway then only one person needs to get out, to call for assistance. Everyone else is generally safer in the car.
