Morning all,

Just wondered if you could help me out here. With a bit of luck my other car will be sold tonight and therefore as of tomorrow I'll be looking for a 'seven' type fun car (probably a Dax/Tiger/Indy, due to my 6ft, 17+ stone frame).

I have a budget of about 7-8K, but I'm struggling to find much that takes my fancy. Other than PH, Locostbuilders, ebay and occasionally trader, where are good places to look (online) ?

In fairness I'm not quite sure what I'm after, but something road legal for weekend blasts, but that would survive the odd visit to a track, so I'm happy to sacrifice luxuries such as padded seats, carpet and windscreens for performance.

Also, being quite new to this game, are their any kind souls in/around the Basingstoke area who are willing to spare some time to show me round their seven and point out things to look out for when buying ?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thanks.

I think you are looking in the right places but have you got enough background knowledge yet? I would suggest you get to some kind of kit car show or more local meeting in order to learn enough about which ones might best suit before looking at cars that are for sale.

An important thing to bear in mind when you try out any cars is "what are you going to do with your left foot when you aren't changing gear. It's one thing to drive a car for 10 minutes holding your foot away from the clutch but somehting else entirely to do that for an hour or more.

Valid points.

I did have every intention of getting over to Stoneleigh this year, but failed miserably as other commitments cropped up. So do I have all the info I need ? - Honestly, probably not but I have been doing a reasonable amount of reading up, I'm just behind on the looking and trying side of things.

Thanks.

You might get in the wide version (SEiW) but it's very unlikely you would be able to get into a standard Westfield

Yeah, I used to know someone with a SEiW who was a similar build to me. I figured the narrow version is out.

Hi,

I've never been to Stonleigh but did visit Newark which sparked me into getting a 7. Worth a ride out maybe? here

Join up on Locostbuilders. Plenty of people willing to meet up and take you out in their car!

You might want to have a look at the Vindicator Sprint, and it might save you some money. I'm 6ft and over 17st and i have seats from a BMW 3 convertible in it so plenty of elbow room which seems to be the major problem with most of the kits. have a look on the factory page as they normally have cars for sale and run demo days too.
