Next noobie question.
I just received my cambelt replacement kit from mx5 parts and the cam cover gasket has a break between 2 of the spark plug hole gaskets.
After talking to mx5 parts, they told me this is for vvt engines.
Just had a look at my 2003 Montana but can't see anything obvious.
Anyone know if my car is vvt or not?

Look at your engine, there will be a lump at the front right with a steel pipe running running from it down the cam-cover towards the back of the engine. That is the VVT actuator
It only affects intake valve timing and doesn't affect valve lift. The ecu also only really uses it to control emissions rather than to boost power.
