Yeah, I saw. It was good - as was the full version you did

But I waste enough time on here and I would have had to write an epic 10 verse saga to compete

I may write something about 928s though, just because it would annoy Dogsharks

How about:

"In the time of flares and Buck Rogers
They decided to replace the nine one one
With a space age front engined GT
Otherwise known as KN's mum

30 years later where can the 928 be?
Oh dear. It's fallen off society's radar
Along with Buck, Tweeky and Wilma D"

LOL

Right, I must do some work now.

Dom, I think I’m going through a metaformosa…

Maybe I should change my handle to Mr Motion©

In those distant dark days of industrial strife
When Jensen FF driving boutique owners had more than one wife
Flares were de rigeur if you ever wore trousers
Unless that was what you called your MK1 Capri’s wide wheel arches

Salad cream days and Foster Grant summers
With Chopper bikes to outrun the lurking park bummers
Starsky and Hutch and John Steeds Jag
While we watched Carter and Regan stopping a blag

The boffins in Zuffenhausen were looking ahead
Because the bosses in Leiderhosen did declare
The 911 was finished and was just about dead
Dry your tears Dieter, because nobody will care

We need a new motor to lead us ahead
Because the motor business is in a terible state
We’ll keep the Nine and add a Two because another One won’t do
And with a bigger engine we’ll call It the nine-two-eight

When people see it coming they’ll just stand in awe
To mark the changes we’ll make it so large
Forget about dynamics and physical law
It won’t matter if folk think it’s a road going barge

We’ll cover the seats in nice black n white chequer
It won’t matter if our rivals curl up in laughs
If our ‘new type’ customers ever get board
They can just recline the seats and play some draughts

With Space 1999 looks it will seem so much better
But make it bigger with proportions of tanks
And if Colin, Luigi, and Klaus don’t buy it
We can always sell it to those cubic loving yanks

Is that what you call it?

When you going to get a real job and come Yak hunting?

That's brilliant, VY

I will see if it can be put in the electronic tome that occasionally appears called PistonSlap (search gen gassing forum for previous examples). The copy is in for the latest one, so may be too late, but we'll see...

If anyone wanted to see why
A verse-loving geezer called VeeWhy
Has no hope of promotion
To the status of Motion....

They'd only have to try to read his blank 'verse'!

Such negative sarky from one Mr Tarky
he really ought to know better
For if Tarka was not such a rotter
he wouldn't have thoughts of an otter

...thoughts of an otter.

Poems are easy, the lines have to scan;
It helps if they rhyme, else straight down the pan!
Subject's important, as VeeWhy will know,
And Porsches come top when the Muse is in flow.
For an otter, a Targa (the link is now clear!)
Has all one could wish for - looks, speed and no peer!

Sorry, VeeWhy, but even though we're both 993 Tip owners, I have to take issue with you on your 'poetry' - some verse is definitely worse!

We could sit here all day, just typing away
As our feet are revealed as nothing but clay
For what had begun as harmless pursuit of fun
while others enjoyed the lines, another would say

These words must become all but undone
From he whose roof is covered in glass
No prizes for guessing where his comments belong
Providing they’re stuck forever up his

So with no further ado, it’s over to you
The Pistoneheads Lauretette taken on oath
Motion or Huges, take take your pick
You're clearly much better than both

I'm done.
