Has my Chims starting motor died? Help!

About a week ago when I started my Chim the starting motor squealed and seemed to be slipping or something. It started but just barely, now it has gotten worse and it sounds like a bag of nails when starting...I think I have about 5 more starts left and it sounds like its going to drop dead. Is this the starting motor? if it is can I just get it fixed at a non-tvr specialist place? any idea how much?
On another point....my Chim normally runs at about 25 oil pressure, however over the last few weeks it seems to run at about 30 and even 35 if I am pushing it...should I start to get worried? Is it just wanting a new oil filter, or is it a sign of something worse?

I have been thinking about that...but I bought it when it was cold and it was running at 25 then. However it has been particulary cold for the last few weeks, maybe this could be the culprit.
I booked the car into David Batty (The Garage) to have the Starter Motor replaced. Hope its not too expensive.

had it replaced quite recently at a dealer (nearest place to where I broke down), the starter motor was £350 + VAT (500 sniffs in total). I shat myself and then realised that it was covered under the warranty. Would be interested to see how much the part would cost at batty's place.

That is a ripoff and why warranties are so expensive!!!!!
I know this sounds stupid - but its not. Have you tried thumping it with a hammer ? Sometimes the thing gets gummed up and the starter cog fails to engage/disengage properly. Percussive maintenance has been known to work.
If it is tommy trucked, then you should be able to get it reconditioned, which is in effect what your buying when you get a 'new' one. I was quoted about 160 quid to do mine, but then I thumped it and its been fine since. £500 is daylight robbery with voilence

yep i agree, wouldn't have gone to the dealer but it was the nearest place at the time.
I don't blame you mate, I just hate garages (or anyone) that feels they can get away with fleecing you.
For example I avoid motorway service fuel refills because at 80+p/litre they are fleecing you when it only costs 75.9p/litre (or whatever) off the motorway. 5p/litre = nearly 25p/gallon = £2.50 per tank in EXTRA profit. I don't mind paying for what I want, but I don't like some people taking an extra profit out of you because they can get away with it.

just to add fuel to the fire, I had to pay the £130 to fit it
This is the kind of thing that makes people complain about TVR reliability - coming away from a dealer feeling skint and fleeced. They should make you feel skint and happy. On a ramp changing a starter motor should not take very long - unless this price includes investgation time.
Just checked your profile. In your area there are several good independents who I believe can also do warranty work. Precision Racing near Hurst for starters ...

well they did say that the outriggers were corroded + wishbones
I suggest you get down to that independent I told you about. IM me offline for more info if you need it. You don't want your wishbones folding on you.

cheers I think I will take to Precision Racing for the service (thats Steve Howard isn't it). Regarding the wishbones etc, not sure whether I should get them looked at now or wait until the service in June, funds are a bit short at the moment.
