Some pretty damning accusations in the WSJ from Landis:

The French have been trying to pin this on him for years - I wonder if this is the final straw?

well its the TdF soon so i suppose we were expecting it really.... Landis is a bitter man, he was blatantly doping in 2006, you could see it when he performed that miraculous recovery after almost dying in the saddle on stage 16, he recovered to ride away from the field the next day, he wsnt a bad cyclist but he just wasnt that good.... he is probably just gutted that he was caught and he didnt have the body to win it clean.

until Armstrong retires, he will get this every year, the french just hate him, they go to great lengths to smear his name, coming up with new and inventive ways of claiming Lance is a cheat and yet quite possibly the most tested man in sport kept giving clean results...

Having a great team around him tied in with low lactic acid levels and being very thorough in every aspect of his cycling are what makes Armstrong great.

So every other top rider it doped to the eye balls, yet Armstrong beats them year after year.

in a word, yes. Chris Carmichael has worked so closely with lance to ensure that Lance's body is at its prime for 3 weeeks in july that you can not imagine the levels of preperation that go into things like training and nutrition.

and not ever top rider is doped up to the eyeballs, some just do not have the ability to generate the same levels of Vo2 or can simply not get their bodies to the same level of fitness.

with reference to the other point about it not being in cyclings interest to find armstrong guilty of wrong doing, it is in fact, very much in cyclings interest to identify ALL drugs cheats, regardless of the personality. the sport so desperately needs to continue clearing its name that hte governing bodies want to investigate every suspicion...

that all said, lance is clean and the day anything is proven otherwise is the day i ride a sub 20 10!

Whatever it is or not, the guy recovered from a less than 50% of chance of staying alive and came back and do what he did.

Perhaps I have been subjected to the propaganda that is his biographies, however, in my mind he is a hero.
