Ferrari 360 modena. TALK TO ME!
Discussion
Ok,
So the 911 goes today. It will be a couple of months before we are moved and the garage I have always wanted is built.
Then a Ferrari itch will need to be scratched.
Now thinking the 360 is looking like good value.
Can people tell me how it compares to the 355, and if a 40kish 360 is a good buy?
A lot seem to be F1, and for a weekend toy I would want manual...
Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Yes get a 360 mate, great cars. And great money at the moment. The newer model Ferrari is always going to be better/modern than the last car it proceeds. After thats clear and understood, then it will be down to what you like the look of the best.

Yea there seems to be a trend of quite alot Porsche owners going from Porsche's to Ferrari's lately.
A manual Ferraris rocks, but so does the F1s on the 360s. I drive both a 360 spider and a 355 spider, both are manuals. But the F1 is so damn quick especially when grabbing them opportunic overtaking points.

I bought a £40k-ish 360 from Tim Walker last summer and haven't looked back. Cracking car for the money and an amazing ownership experiance. The car has been as good as gold so far - apart from guzzling tons of V-Power! I have the F1 'box and think it adds to the experiance rather than taking away.

I sold my 996tt (of 5yrs) last July and bought a 360 Modena (manual) in December.
BRILLIANT .... do it !!!
You can get a cracking car for £40k, but will be 30k mls or more.
Although ..... after driving an F1 on test drive and my 996 being tiptronic, I wanted and bought a manual ...
Bear in mind that the gear change is not silky smooth. 2nd always seems to be a problem, especially until warm (although that'll hopefully be fixed on Monday after service, Hill Engineer Gearshift Bracket/Bush & Redline oil in gearbox) ... I hope to fall in love with the manual box again, but it's a bit of a pain as it is.
I have sometimes wondered if an F1 with the later software would be a better driving experience. A mate of mine (Tony M) also has a manual spider and I think he'd go for an F1 next time.
DRIVE BOTH BEFORE MAKING A DECISION - and make sure f1 is latest software, post 02/03 I think although may stand corrected.
Car has been faultless so far, and FAR MORE interactive and sharper than my 996 - which was too good in all conditions, but not so involving to drive .... then you have the F Factor of a ferrari which is sure to put a smile on your face every time you see it.
Good luck

I have a 996TT and a 360 Spider.
In terms of being an event just to drive it, the Ferrari is on another planet from the Porsche.
That can get a bit wearing at times but I don't imagine anyone getting a Ferrari hasn't considered that aspect, particularly since it is almost the opposite of the Porsche.

I went from 996 GT3 to a 360 Modena manual. I tried the F1 box and wasn't that taken so decided to go for the manual. What I found was that the manual box did feel a little strange at first with the clunky gate and long throws but over a few miles I grew to love it.
To be honest I kept an open mind with regard gear boxes on the grounds that if I found the right car I'd go for either. Point is a 20min test drive in one of these cars won't give you a full insight into what they are about. Get yourself a nice clean example don't worry to much about the mileage but be fussy about history.

Are there any well regarded people who do inspections?
