.... I quite like the x6. I wouldn't ever own one, ever, but I think it looks amazing. Sorry. That is all.

I saw one in white the other day and thought someone was driving round in a Stormtrooper's helmet.

Nope, just a helmet.

It and the 5 series GT I saw the other day indicate to me that BMW have lost their way.

i just wanted to right my wrong of a few months back.

i saw one GT from head on 'when they weren;t out yet' and thought it looked passable. i would like to say that in fact it is not even approaching being passable.

i don't understand the pointless A4/A5 rover 800 thing either but at least that's good looking.

I parked next to a 5 GT the other day, they`re huge. Admittedly I was in my A2 but even so the thing was gargantuan. The X6 I can take or leave.

In fact no, I`ll leave it!

I don't like the gt but I do like the x6, it would make a fantastic tow car for me.

The fact I parked next to one the other day that was towing an F40 might have swayed me!

Personally I think the 5 series GT looks even worse than the X6.

Unfortunately even a (large) condom wouldn't hide the horrendous shape of an X6...

The A5 Sportback? My dad's considering one to replace his A4 Avant- they're bigger inside than the A4 and better looking too. Wonder if they'll do an RS5 one? That would be a laugh.

It's a white one round the corner from my house that has 'turned' me. Dark windows, big wheels and it's been debadged. I should hate it. I really should. I just have this strange urge to tell the owner "nice car mate" next time I see him. He'll probably laugh. Or bum me. Maybe I'll like that too.

I'm with you on that. Now the Z4 has gone it bit ugly with its folding metal roof. The X6 and X6M are certainly BMW's best looking cars IMO smile

yes that's the one. to me (and it probably is just me) they could get away with 'sportback', 'avant', and coupe and be done. no need for the workaday a4 saloon anymore. but i know it doesn;t work like that! same with the passat. need practicality - estate, otherwise CC.

BMW always get bad press in the looks department when they release a new car. Thats because the M Sport guise always comes at a later date and all is forgotton at that point.

I can't think of any BMW's in SE spec that float my boat. Maybe the early 335i coupe as it came with huge wheels and lookded pretty but thats it.

BMWs are designed to grow on you. It may be a bit radical now but in 5 years time it will be the nuts. Thats the way most of their popular models have been recieved over the last 20 years.

There was a great article that Mr Bangal wrote explaining the thought behind all of this, I just cant find it.

Well sadly I'd have to admit to the same heinous crime. I'm not a big fan of 4x4's but there's something completely bonkers about the X6 that really floats my boat.
