I have quite liked JM when I have seen his stand up. Good choice I think smile

Jason Manford has been chosen to replace Adrian Chiles on The One Show, a report claims.

According to The Mirror, BBC bosses decided to offer the comedian the job after he impressed them in a recent screen test.

It is thought that the 28-year-old was among six candidates who were tested out for the position, but was the only one who had the right chemistry with existing host Christine Bleakley.

Manford already has his own ITV1 show Comedy Rocks and also regularly appears on Channel 4 programmes.

A source said: "Jason is seen by many in TV as a rising star. He has a growing number of fans and is very down to earth so he will appeal to lots of people.

"He's naturally funny, doesn't swear or get crude in his act, so there is no danger of him getting foul-mouthed on The One Show. Bosses wanted him, so even being on ITV shows didn't spoil his chances."

Insiders say that the deal will not be announced until contracts are finalised.

Hmmm, I thought 8 out of 10 cats is a Jimmy Carr show?

I follow him on twitter and he's been talking recently about putting the usual quotes in a press release like "I can't wait to start working with the team" and also if anyone knows somewhere to rent in London.

Knowing his previous he's probably just on the wind up!

Yes, but funny nonetheless. Lets thank our lucky stars it isn't Michael McIntyre - he's about as funny as tooth extraction without anaesthetic.
