What did I see?

I was out in London with some friends getting something to eat this evening, and a very unusual car passed by. The back was like this Pantera.
But with a cabin like a Vector, but made of more glass.
However the unusual thing was they were opening and closing the roof when moved up and down on struts (the whole roof moved up and down as one piece from each corner). Looked interesting, but must have made getting in and out difficult! It was metalic blue, with 4 letters spread across the back (there may have been a place for a 5th one in the middle that had fallen off, but I'm not too sure.
I'm guessing it was a kit car of some sort, but does anyone know what it might be?
