wavey all,

I have a challenge for you. For years I've been racking my brain trying to remember a cartoon I used to watch when I was young and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, or any real details of it.

So, the details are;

Aired in the 80s. I think. It had a band of 3 - 4 people who were the good guys, but they could call on some robots when it hit the fan. There were a few versions of these robots depending on the need, there was definitely a ground based and water based on. I think an air one too... One was tall, one was short and stumpy... which matched the personalities of the people.

Reading this, it all sounds like a japanese/manga one, but I'm not sure it was of eastern origin...

Sorry for being really vague, but that's been the problem. I can't remember much of it at all, I just remember I loved watching it!

Names of suggestions probably won't work, but pictures would trigger my memories... smile

Thanks in advance.

I've seen that picture before, but I'm not sure it is. The robots are the things I remember the most...

And it's definitely a cartoon.

The pic is Battle of the Planets (or Gatchaman in it's original, Japanese incarnation). Didn't have any robots in it - apart from an annoying dog cut in for western audiences where they cut some of the darker stuff from the Jap version.

No robots as such but they did each have a ship/vehicle which was used for different things and then they all came together to form one large robot (IIRC) looking thing...

Oh, and I knew it as G-Force.

Did one of the vehicles work underwater/fly? I can't have made it up, my mind wasn't messed up until a lot later in life.

I think that a few of them worked underwater because they flew out of a lake one time IIRC. And yes, I am pretty sure they flew as well as the characters would leap out and use their capes to land.
