still in the hunt of a pitch ......can someone tell me where the non-numbered pitches are on the site. also when you arrive do you have to drive round and find some space?? is there a risk that you wont find anywhere??? as im on my own, i dont think i need to have a numbered one as i dont have to organise anyone else..

your experience would be helpful to me

thanks

You get guided to your spot by the guys on the gate.

Not sure where all the non numbered pitches are around the periphery of the site I would guess, it is pretty bloody big though!

They will guide you to where they want but its worth being pushy and trying to find a good spot. Le Houx gets very busy quickly. We get there tuesday morning and by weds its usually quite full.

There's a map here courtessy of TVR Car Club:

http://www.tvr-car-club.co.uk/images/archives/NewH...

The pitches with a line through are unnumbered, but beware, Houx has been heavily modified this year to provide more pitches so this map is out of date. However, I doubt the un-numbered ones will change much.

Actually the pitches with red, diagonal lines through them on that map are UNALLOCATED and not UN-NUMBERED pitches.

These fall in to two groups - some are larger/easy access pitches kept free for people arriving with a 5x7 mobile home to find their allocated pitch has a tree in the middle of it. The rest are those that are more tree than grass and of no use to man or beast.

Are you the 'Nick' who asked me about the pitch number of my allocated Houx Camping Pass on Ebay?

If so, that one has gone, but there is one more, it doesn't look like it will be expensive. I will be there anyway and I have a kettle wink.
